Plants

For another pay it forward assignment in my Holistic class, I bought packages of seeds and put them in the pockets of pants at a thrift store.

An added bonus is that I got some seeds to keep for our house. I'm excited to start planting.
I also got some things for my room:
African Violet

Polka dot Plant

Succulent

In Holistic class this week, we've been discussing a book called Mindsight about neuroscience and meditation. There is a part in it that basically says,
"If we are in fight or flight mode, our reactivity makes it quite difficult to be open, receptive, and empathetic to others".

I feel like this has applied a lot to me recently. With school, I havn't had the energy to pay attention to my friends and I feel burnt out at my internship. But I've been trying to slow down.
I started to do needlepoint and got some 1950's magazines at an antique store to collage with, so I'm looking forward to that. Self Care!

Spring Break Continued

I am mentally checked out with school. This week I had midterms, but after spring break I've got the fever. It's tempting to blow things off because the weather is getting nice. I have senioritis and want to be done with school so I can have more free time to practice what I want to do.

I went to the Arboretum with Diana, Mike, Ian, and Hannah:

Environmental Injustice

In Ecopsych class we watched Trouble the Water:
which was really sad and scary.

Today I watched Wasteland:
It was amazing and inspirational.

take care.

Spring Break!!!

It's spring break, although it doesn't feel very much like spring in New Hampshire. However, I did get my fair share of the oceans and mountains.

Diana and I went to the beach.

She painted while I played with this wonderful ink that she gave me and materials I found there.

I went to visit my friend, Amanda, in North Conway. The drive up there was beautiful.

The sky turned purple at sunset and blended in with the mountains.

Amanda has a really nice place, inclusive of beautiful pets, gorgeous plants, and a wonderful boyfriend.

When I came back, Diana Adam Mike and I made tissue paper flowers for a project of hers:

This made me want to do more arts and crafts. Maybe I'll upload some pages from my journal at some point.

New Hampshire makes me feel unconditionally loved, yet oddly nostalgic that things are not the way they used to be.

Take Walks Every Day

Since the weather has been nice, and encroaching upon fourty degrees,
I have been trying to walk to and from school.
I've mastered reading while walking.

I wonder what this place is...
